The emergence of the multilingual motivational system in Chinese learners

چکیده
What motivates people to learn a language other than English (LOTE) in addition English? As distinct as the motivational systems different languages might be, they can also be understood interconnected subsystems embedded larger system. Previous studies have argued that such may constant interaction with each other, co-adaption learning context, and lead emergence of an ideal multilingual self Following this argumentation, current study examines system among Chinese learners. + LOTE (E-LOTE) learners were compared English-only uncover special attributes E-LOTE learners' motivations; then relationship between motivation was investigated. The results demonstrated had higher interest established more salient self. Moreover, learners’ two interacted over time. These confirm hypothesis emerges from self-organization learner context.
